Well, I’ve been following the original question and related information but wasn’t yet able to figure it out, specially because the age is usually a low integer (0 or 1), which makes it pretty hard to find in a binary file… Could you provide some details here?

I have modified a few releases by hand, but I hope to write a program to automate the process.

I’d find that quite a valuable resource to put together. I believe such a tool would be most helpful, specially for legacy projects for whose a symbol server was not available at build time. Setting up an open-source project would be even better, in the sense of allowing foreign improvements and contributions.
